The Center for Consumer Law at the University of Houston Presented a free CLE program,
“Dodd-Frank—What it Means for You and Your Practice.”

President Barack Obama signed the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act into law on July 21, 2010. The Act is the product of the financial regulatory reform by the 111th Congress. Originally introduced in the House by Barney Frank on December 2, 2009, the law is the most sweeping change to financial regulation in the United States since the Great Depression. It is expected that the law will affect almost every aspect of the nations financial services industry, with an emphasis on the consumer credit market.
This Conference provided an over-view of Dodd-Frank, and explained how its provisions might affect you and your practice. Topics included, the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Community Banks, Whistleblowers, Corporate Governance and the regulation of Consumer Credit. Speakers included:
